/ Technical Tour: Montreal Mass Transit Authority Fire Training Centre
Time: 6:00-8:30 AM - (This tour will be over in time to do one of our educational courses.)
**A light snack will be provided at the hotel prior to your departure**

Description: The Montreal Mass Transit Authority/Société de Transport de Montréal (STM) simulation and training center provides training on intervention techniques on various events that may occur in the metro.

Whether a metro breakdown, fire, water leakage, equipment breakdown or an accident involving people, STM instructors can provide training through this center which is the physical reproduction of a subway station and tunnel. Engineers, firefighters, paramedics, underground conductors, preventionists will benefit from this tour and will help improve their intervention techniques.

Come see this training center that will stimulate your interest as an integral part of the safe operation of the Montreal Mass Transit Authority.

We can even answer your questions!

Cost: $40

/ Technical Tour: Hy-Rail Response Truck: a North American First
Time: 1:30-3:30 PM

**A snack will be provided at the hotel upon your return**

Description: Built between 1912 and 1917 and commissioned in 1918, the Mont Royal Tunnel is a major infrastructure for the commuter rail operations in the Montreal area as it provides direct access to downtown for users of the network’s busiest line, the Deux-Montagnes line and most recently, the Mascouche line.

The hy-rail response truck is one of the first improvements carried out to authorize the passage of dual-mode (diesel fuel and electricity) locomotives in the tunnel, to limit the risk of accidents and/or fire in the tunnel, as well as to facilitate the management of events, if necessary.

The hy-rail response truck revolutionizes emergency railway responses to both incidents and accidents because by combining both modes—rail and road—it can travel quickly across the commuter rail network.

Custom-built, equipped with an ultra-high pressure pump (PyroLance) able to perforate a locomotive’s body and put out a fire from the outside, it is also fitted with a 500-gallon water tank (50-minute autonomy) and a 1000-foot hose.

Come and discover the multiple facets of this unique innovation developed in collaboration with the Montreal Fire Department, the first hy-rail response vehicle of its kind in North America.

Cost: $40
Max #: 30 participants

/ Technical Tour: The 1976 Olympic Stadium and Its Funicular Railway

**A snack will be provided at the hotel upon your return**

Description: See the newly installed equipment to assist firefighters: a unique system that provide fresh air to their Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) where it is require!

See how they transformed an inclined tower into business spaces and, take the funicular railway to climb to its top and admire the Montreal night sky from this enjoyable viewpoint.
